As a lifelong Christian and graduate of West Mecklenburg, Charlese was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. Due to the demands, infections and complications of work, medicine, and surgery Charlese had to have a career change to cope with cancer. Her lifestyle change took her from an office manager to a bus driver so she could more easily meet the demands and appointments pertaining to living with cancer.
After being told she could no longer safely operate a bus she now has to rely on short term disability alone to take care of her living expenses. With the help of generous donors of Hearts for Hope she will have one less bill to worry about this summer.
